Copy Tabs

Privacy policy

Last updated: September 7, 2026 · Extension version 1.0.0

Copy Tabs copies the URLs of selected tabs or all tabs in your focused Chrome window to your clipboard. These operations take place on your device.

Information the extension accesses

When you use a copy button or keyboard shortcut, the extension queries Chrome for the tabs in the focused browser window. It uses the tab URLs and selection state to produce the list you requested. URLs may contain personal or sensitive information. The extension does not read page contents or query Chrome's stored browsing-history database.

How the information is used

The extension formats each requested URL as a line beginning with - and writes the resulting text to your system clipboard. It does not read existing clipboard contents. It also displays a temporary success or error indicator and, in the popup, the number of copied tabs.

Storage and retention

The extension processes the requested list temporarily in memory. It does not create a saved URL history or store URLs in an extension database. Copied text remains in your system clipboard until it is replaced or cleared. Your operating system or other software may keep clipboard history or synchronize clipboard contents according to your own settings; Copy Tabs does not manage those services.

Collection and sharing

The extension does not transmit tab URLs or other browsing data to its developer or any external server. It has no analytics, tracking, advertising, user accounts, or remote code. The developer does not collect, sell, share, or use your tab URLs for advertising or any purpose outside the copy operation you request.

Copy Tabs follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Data access is restricted to the user-requested copying feature. The developer does not receive browsing data for human review or any unrelated use.

Permissions

Your choices

Copying happens when you invoke an extension button or shortcut. You choose which tabs to include. You can change shortcuts in Chrome's extension shortcut settings, replace or clear copied text, or disable or uninstall the extension at any time.

Changes and contact

This policy will be updated if the extension's data practices change. The date and covered version appear above. Copy Tabs is published by Erik Elyager. For privacy questions, email elyager@gmail.com.
